Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
This policy describes what information Plynt collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Plynt is operated by Andrew Murillo as a sole proprietor. If you have questions, email andrew.s.murillo@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create a Plynt account, we collect your email address, a chosen username, and (optionally) a profile photo. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-relayed email and a unique Apple user identifier.
Content you create
We store the games you log, ratings, written reviews, lists you create, comments you post, items in your collection (including format, condition, and optional purchase price), and follow relationships with other users. This content is associated with your account so it can sync across your devices.
Connected services
If you connect your Steam account, we store your Steam ID so we can fetch your owned games and playtime. We do not request or receive your Steam password — Steam's public Web API only requires your numeric Steam ID.
Subscription and purchase data
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Plynt receives a subscription status (active / inactive) from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We do not see or store your payment card information.
Device and diagnostic data
Like most apps, we receive basic technical information from your device (iOS version, app version, anonymized identifiers) to diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
How we use information
- To provide core app functionality (your library, collection, lists, social features)
- To sync your data across devices you sign into
- To match games to current market prices for collection valuation
- To enable social features (followers, activity feed, comments)
- To process subscription purchases and verify entitlements
- To enforce our Terms of Use and respond to abuse reports
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.
Third parties we share data with
Plynt uses the following service providers, each of which processes a limited slice of your data on our behalf:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication and in-app purchase processing.
- Supabase — Database and authentication backend that stores your account, library, collection, and social data.
- RevenueCat — Subscription status and entitlement management.
- Steam (Valve Corporation) — Public Web API requests for your owned games and playtime, made only after you connect your Steam ID.
- IGDB / Twitch — Game metadata lookups (titles, cover art, release info). We send game search queries; we do not send your account information.
- PriceCharting — Source of physical game and console market prices, ingested in bulk on our backend. We do not send your personal data to PriceCharting.
- Cloudflare — Hosts our backend proxy worker and this website.
Your rights and choices
- Access and edit — You can view and edit your logs, lists, collection, profile, and connections from within the app.
- Delete your account — You can delete your account from Settings inside the app. Deletion removes your profile, logs, lists, collection items, follows, and reviews from our active database.
- Block and report — You can block other users and report content that violates our Terms.
- Disconnect Steam — You can disconnect your Steam account at any time from Settings, which removes your Steam ID from our records.
Children
Plynt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information from our active systems. Backups may persist for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
Security
Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Supabase's managed infrastructure with encryption at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
